Jody Sandler, DVM
Chief of Staff
Dr. Jody Sandler, our Chief of Staff, is a New York native. He was born in Yonkers, moved to Yorktown Heights as a teenager, and lives in Hopewell Junction today. He received his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University and his DVM degree from Cornell.
Dr. Sandler has also practiced at the Sachem Animal Hospital in Holbrook, and spent the last 26 years working with guide dogs and the blind and visually impaired as Director of Veterinary Services at Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Dr. Sandler is so passionate about working with service animals and the human-animal bond that he started BluePath Service Dogs. BluePath is a non-profit organization which places service dogs with autistic children who need safety and companionship.
In his spare time, Dr. Sandler enjoys coaching baseball and soccer, vegetable gardening, collecting antique glass paperweights and hiking outside when the weather is nice. He is married to his wife Caroline for 19 years, and they have four kids (one of which is a veterinarian), as well as three dogs, four cats, two horses and fish at home. Dr. Sandler was recently honored by the AVMA as the 2016 Companion Animal Veterinarian of the Year.
